4.5.0. Merge Patient

This feature enables the user to merge two identical patient files into a single entity to ensure that all patient information is retained.

It is most often used if a study was imported with different or missing patient information DICOM tages (i.e. patient name, patient ID gender, birthdate) - the user could manually edit all of the information, but merging the patient reduces risk of error and increases efficiency.

To merge the patient information, follow the steps below:

Determine the studies

A new window will appear with the patient study that was selected to be merged, ensure that it is the correct study and then press ‘ Next ’ :

Enter the search details and click on the ‘Search’ button, select the study of the patient that the first selected study will be merged toand then press ‘Next’:

Merge

This window shows the details of both patients that will be merged into one file. Ensure that the correct patients were selected and read the warnings before clicking on the ‘Start Merge’ button.

Result

This window shows the result of the merge, after viewing the details, click on the ‘Finish’ button.
