9.3.1. Automatic Fusion

Fusion occurs automatically upon opening a study with valid combinations of overlaying and underlying image series if the default viewing protocol contains at least one fusion window.

» Only automatic fusion between series of the same study is supported in this phase (hybrid case).

» The fusion window will remain empty if there is no possible fusion between the series of the specified study to never give the user false indication.

» If there is intersection between the fused series but the frame of reference DICOM tag has different value; then “Different FoR” notation is displayed over the image, as shown below:
